Notice from the parent association board
Dear parents and guardians
The Austurbæjarskóli parent association board wishes you and your children a wonderful new school year! Now that the school year is in full swing, we want to share a few reminders and update you on what is next for the association.
Traffic and darker days
Because mornings and afternoons are getting darker, this is a perfect time to talk with your children about traffic safety: wearing reflective gear, looking carefully in all directions, and leaving plenty of time to travel to and from school. Please help your children identify the safest route to school.
Children's safety
We also encourage you to remind your children not to talk to strangers and to immediately tell a trusted adult—whether at home, at school, or elsewhere—if they notice anything inappropriate or unusual. It is crucial that children know they can always speak up.
Information from the school
Just a reminder that key notices and information about school operations are available on the school's website:

Parent Association's annual general meeting
The parent association will hold its annual general meeting at Austurbæjarskóli on Monday, Sept. 28, at 6 p.m.
All parents are welcome, and we encourage everyone to attend, as it offers a great opportunity to have a voice in school operations and connect with other parents. We will send another reminder as the date approaches. At the meeting, we will also be looking for volunteers to join the parent association board and the school council—it is rewarding, enjoyable work. Please feel free to reach out if you are interested or need more information. We look forward to seeing you at the annual general meeting and building a productive partnership this winter. We would also like to remind you of the Austurbæjarskóli parents' Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1539349329766458/ Best regards, Austurbæjarskóli Parent Association Board
