Practical information
Office opening hours
The school office is open from 7:45am to 3pm.
Student reception
School administrators greet students between 8am and 8:20am at the main entrance, the Vitastígur entrance, and in the northern courtyard. To enhance safety and supervision, three entrances remain unlocked and open until 8:30am. One entrance closes at that time. After 8:30am, only the Vitastígur entrance (with attendants on duty) and the main entrance remain open. There are additional exits.
Parents and visitors must report to the office upon arrival at the school. Signs at entrances direct guests and parents to the office. Those staying in the school receive a visitor pass to wear around their neck.
Office hours
Information about teachers' office hours is available on Mentor and at the office.
Student absences
Report student illnesses and other absences to the school office or through Mentor as soon as possible. Parents must report illness-related absences daily. Mentor sends parents a weekly overview of student attendance and participation. The school may request a medical certificate for absences due to illness lasting more than five consecutive days. The school may request a doctor’s note for repeated short-term absences due to illness.
Teacher absences
The school makes every effort to secure substitute teachers when regular teachers are absent. However, this is not always guaranteed. In such cases, the school may have to cancel classes. When canceling classes for 5th to 7th-grade students results in early dismissal, staff always ensure that students have access to their homes.
Student lockers
Students in grades 5-10 are provided with free lockers for use during the school year.
Lost and found
Lost and found items can be found in the annex, on the left side of the third floor, and in the gymnasium. Parents are encouraged to clearly label bags, shoes, sports clothes, and other items students bring to school. Students are encouraged to promptly contact staff if they lose clothing or items at school. Parents should check lost and found during parent interviews. In spring, the school reserves the right to donate unclaimed items to charity organizations.
